Training

Training news and guidance for heat pump and renewable energy installers, helping heating engineers, electricians and plumbers build the skills the UK’s net zero transition demands.

This section covers heat pump installation courses, low-temperature heating system design, F-Gas refrigerant handling qualifications, solar PV and battery storage training, EV charger installation, and the routes to MCS certification and competent person scheme membership. We also report on apprenticeships, upskilling funding, manufacturer training academies, and the industry’s efforts to close the green skills gap and grow a qualified low-carbon heating workforce.

Whether you are a gas engineer retraining to fit air source heat pumps, a business planning workforce development, or a college or training provider, our articles explain what is changing, which qualifications matter and where to find recognised training.
